If determined to be qualified by typical admission measures, students can begin taking coursework toward the master’s degree program while still completing their final year of bachelor’s work. Admission to the graduate program is provisional, contingent upon successful completion of the bachelor’s degree, maintenance of the required 3.5 GPA and performance in the graduate-level courses taken during the bachelor’s degree. Bachelor’s students who have earned 30 hours of academic credit at Georgia State (excluding AP or transfer credits) and have no more than 90 hours with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at Georgia State are eligible to apply for the dual-degree program.
Students apply for admission using the university dual-degree application form by posted college deadlines. Applications are submitted to the college’s Office of Academic Assistance, which is the primary unit responsible for administering the dual degree admissions, student tracking and graduate course plan approval processes.
A separate application to the School of Music is also required. Students must submit any required pre-screening audition materials and must complete in-person auditions to be accepted. These deadlines and audition dates can be found on the School of Music website.
