Mr. Rudy Wilson has served as a Georgia Music Educator for over 40 years and as Band Director at Brookwood High School for 28 years. Mr. Wilson is a native of Alma, Georgia and received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Berry College, Master of Music Education degree from VanderCook College of Music, and the Education Specialist degree in Music Education from the University of Georgia. Mr. Wilson has actively served in various church committees, deacon family ministries, sanctuary choir, instrumental coordinator at Smoke Rise Baptist Church. He is a volunteer at Friends of Refugees in Clarkston and has served as Band Chair for the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl for almost 20 years.
Mr. Wilson is currently active as band clinician, adjudicator, mentor and consultant to music programs and colleagues. He has served as a long term substitute most recently at Pinckneyville MS in the fall of 2019 and at Chestatee High School as Interim Director of Bands in 2020. Mr. Wilson is glad to “give back” to the band community in which he was involved for the majority of his music education career in the Brookwood Cluster. Mary Wilson, his wife, served as Band Director at FFMS from 1984-1990.
