A native from Alberta, Canada, Ellie Anderson is a graduate from the University of Alberta Music program where she completed her Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education degrees in the spring of 2013. Anderson began her teaching career at Onoway Jr/Sr High School the following fall with the Northern Gateway Public School Division. Under her direction, the band program expanded music options, was an active participant in provincial festivals, and regularly hosted workshops with notable guest conductors and educators.
Anderson was the recipient of the Keith Mann Young Band Director Award in 2017 which recognizes outstanding band directors with less than six years of experience, and the division recipient of the Edwin Parr Teacher Award in 2014, awarded to exceptional first year teachers in any subject. Anderson is currently pursuing her Master of Music in Wind Band Conducting at Georgia State University.
