BENEFIT FROM A VIBRANT URBAN SETTING, ARTIST NETWORKS, & IMMERSIVE PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES
AFFORDABLE: M.M. tuition is waived, paid assistantships and stipends are available to graduate-level students, merit-based scholarships are offered within the school to undergraduate and graduate students.
URBAN: The downtown location encourages connections with the local music ensembles and venues, such as the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Red Light Cafe, City Winery, The Atlanta Opera, surrounding Atlanta-area theaters and a solid network of schools and churches. Alumni, faculty and students are very involved in the expanding and ever-evolving music scene and are active performers in many professional groups in the city.
GUEST ARTISTS AND ENSEMBLES: The School of Music welcomes master educators and professional musicians in all instrumental and performance areas to campus to provide concerts, workshops and masterclasses for students. In addition, we host three ensembles in residence: Bent Frequency, the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra of Atlanta and Ensemble ATL.
STUDIOS & RESOURCES: Students have 24-hour access to private & semi-private practice space space, which allows for creative exploration and rehearsals. The School of Music has six professional-level recording studios equipped with state-of-the-art digital audio workstations running Pro Tools and numerous other software programs.
COLLEGE TO CAREER: Students are provided a multitude of performance opportunities with local and regional orchestras, contemporary chamber ensembles, church organizations and at professional conferences and conventions. Our students are employed by many surrounding schools and churches, gaining real-world experience in their field before graduation.
