An audition is required for the Bachelor of Music in Music Technology. You will learn about recording, production, synthesis, and sound design.
Music Technology (Recording/Music Production) (Bachelor of Music) prepares students for work in artistic, technical, or producer/director capacities in music and music-related media industries. Students are both aesthetically and practically trained for work as audio engineers and music technologists. The program balances the development of artistic and creative skills with the mastery of technical skills, achieved through course work and a culminating internship. Applicants should have a strong background in music reading and performance.
There are six recording studio labs, designed by Walters-Storyk, fully equipped with state-of-the-art digital audio workstations running Pro Tools, and numerous other software programs. High-level monitoring by Genelec, SSL consoles, Universal Audio hardware and software, and an extensive microphone collection are complemented by significant analog and digital sound production tools.
The institute coordinates both graduate and undergraduate admissions. Students seeking an undergraduate degree will apply through university admissions and receive additional support from the central office.
