Parking
Bus parking will be available in Blue Lot (76 Fulton Street SW, Atlanta, GA 30312).
We highly recommend dropping students off at Gate 10 located off Hank Aaron Drive SW before the bus parks as it is a bit of a walk for your students and their equipment.
Attire
All participants will be asked to wear their GSU Band Day t-shirt (you will receive these at check-in) and either jeans or black shorts.
We also recommend wearing comfortable shoes as there will be a lot of standing and walking throughout the day.
Instruments
All wind and percussion students will need to provide their own instruments.
If a student is a member of the front ensemble, we ask that they bring a pair of cymbals to play as we will not be providing front ensemble equipment.
Color guard members will need to provide their own flag, and twirlers will need to provide their own baton.
Music
Music for Band Day 2024 can be accessed by clicking the buttons below:
NOTE: For I Want You Back, we will play from the beginning through measure 52, then jump to measure 71 and play to the end.
Meal
Each program will be responsible for feeding your students.
We highly encourage you to use the concessions stands located within the stadium or having boxed lunches dropped off at your busses. We do not recommend leaving campus as traffic can be heavy on game days.
Georgia State University Band Day is an annual event that invites local middle and high school band students to be VIP guests of the Panther Band for a day! Students participate in game day activities including a morning rehearsal, halftime performance, and seats next to the band to cheer the Panthers on to victory. Through this event, students get a taste of what it’s like to be in a college marching band and have the opportunity to play alongside our very own Panther Band!
This year, we are thrilled to host the 10th Annual GSU Band Day on Saturday, November 16, 2024, during our home game against Arkansas State University. A special Band Day t-shirt (which must be worn by all student participants) is included in your ticket price, and will be given to you at check in the morning of the event. We encourage you to represent your school, and give your band members an experience they will never forget!
To register, band directors should click the button below to submit an event application. Once submitted, you will be redirected to the GSU Athletics Department where you will be able to purchase tickets for all students participants, and any directors, staff, and/or chaperones that will be attending the event from your school. Should you not be redirected, please follow this link – GSU vs. Arkansas State Tickets – tickets are $20.00 per person and must be paid by 12:00pm on November 15th. Payment WILL NOT be accepted on the day of the event.
The registration deadline is October 26, 2024.
Music for Band Day 2024 can be accessed by clicking the buttons below. We ask that each ensemble purchase a set of parts for each tune; parts for the GSU Fight Song are linked below. Drum majors, color guard members, and majorettes are encouraged to participate in this event as well! Color guard members should bring their own flag, and twirlers should bring their own baton. We WILL NOT have front ensemble equipment available for Band Day participants; we suggest those students bring cymbals to play for the day.
NOTE: For I Want You Back, we will play from the beginning through measure 52, then jump to measure 71 and play to the end.
