All Panther Band members attend all home football games as well as one or two away games each year, depending on the schedule. Bowl travel is also possible should the football team become eligible.
The Panther Band rehearses at Georgia State Stadium on Wednesday and Friday of each week from 4:00–7:00 p.m. Rehearsals are also held on game days before home football games and other performances. Percussion sectionals are held Wednesdays from 7:00-8:00 PM. Color guard sectionals are held Mondays from 6:00-8:00 PM.
Yes. All members of the Panther Band are issued instruments. All non-wood components are silver finish.
All students are required to enroll in Marching Band (MUS 1063/3063/7063) for course credit. Marching Band is a course offered through the School of Music. Students do not need to be a music student to enroll in these courses.
Scholarships are available for all students in the Panther Band. These will be awarded to those who demonstrate a high proficiency level on their audition and the overall instrumentation needs of the ensemble. There is NO separate audition required to be considered for scholarship.
All members of the Panther Band are assessed a $100 fee which students pay at band camp. This fee covers the following items which are required for members: gloves, Panther Band t-shirts, Panther Band shorts, Panther Band hats, marching shoes, uniform cleanings, and meals on all performance days.
All color guard members (new or returning) pay a total cost of $300.00 which includes shoes, uniform, bag, accessories, etc.
