Graduate Choral Conducting Student Invited to Participate in Conducting Masterclass at 2023 World Symposium on Choral Music in Istanbul, Turkey

José Alberto Azurdia Lamadrid, a graduate conducting student studying with Dr. Deanna Joseph, is headed to Istanbul, Turkey not only to perform with the Georgia State University Singers but also to participate in the highly competitive conducting masterclass as part of the conference. He is one of six participants selected for this opportunity.

On January 14th, the GSU trumpet studio performed the world premiere of a new work at the Trumpet Festival of the Southeast 2023 at Berry College in Rome, GA. The piece “Moonshot” was written for the students by GSU alumnus Ryan Ragsdale.
