- Monday, March 10, 2025
Entrance Into the School of Music Requires 3 Steps:
Applying to the School of Music
To gain admission to the School of Music, an audition is required for most programs. Applicants can select an audition day conducted on campus as part of the application. In certain cases, virtual auditions may be evaluated on an individual basis.
Instrumentalists must audition on the instrument they will study for their degree program—a list of suggested graduate audition repertoire.
All graduate applicants will be considered for a graduate assistantship (except for Low-Residency Conducting MM applicants) based on their audition, their application materials and their academic transcripts. Graduate assistantships will only be offered if both the university and School of Music applications are complete. Graduate Assistantship offers will be made after the last School of Music audition date in March. If the student still has pending academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, TOEFL scores, etc., at that time, they cannot be considered for an assistantship.

All applicants must apply and be accepted to The Graduate School and the School of Music. Please follow the steps below to ensure proper handling of your application materials.
