RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a high profile as a performer and pedagogue through prestigious local, regional, national, and international engagements;
- Teach weekly applied violin lessons for undergraduate and graduate students;
- Conduct/teach a weekly violin studio class;
- Coach weekly chamber music classes;
- Work with students on junior, senior, and graduate-level recitals;
- Mentor undergraduate and graduate-level string students;
- Teach supplementary courses and other related courses as needed and as the schedule allows (i.e., music theory, aural skills, music appreciation, etc.);
- Work closely with string, instrumental, and all School of Music colleagues;
- Attend faculty meetings (including those of the string area, department, college, and university);
- Actively participate in faculty governance at the school, college, and university-level, including service on committees and other faculty administrative assignments as needed
SALARY:
$65,000-80,000 |
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least one (1) year of high-level professional performance experience
- At least one (1) year of violin instruction at the collegiate level
- Doctorate in music or equivalent professional experience
- A record of proven success in the recruitment of exceptional college music majors.
- An established national/international reputation as a performer.
- Demonstrated ability to teach in additional areas of the music curriculum.
- At least three (3) years of high-level professional performance experience
- At least three (3) years of violin instruction at the collegiate level’
- Doctorate in music or equivalent professional experience
- A record of proven success in the recruitment of exceptional college music majors.
- An established national/international reputation as a performer.
- Demonstrated ability to teach in additional areas of the music curriculum.
- Currently employed at the rank of Associate Professor or higher.
