Georgia State University Welcomes the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra of Atlanta
AUGUST 29, 2016 (Atlanta, GA) – The Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestras of Atlanta (MYSO) is a community-based youth orchestra dedicated to furthering the music education of its students. The primary goal of MYSO is to instill in its students a love for music that will stay with them forever.
Dr. Wade Weast, Dean of Georgia State University’s College of the Arts stated, “ This is a wonderful partnership between MYSO and Georgia State University School of Music. We are excited to welcome back MYSO after seven years to Georgia State University. This renewed partnership with MYSO provides these talented young musicians coaching from our artist faculty and a home they can make music in. This fulfills the mission for the newly formed College of the Arts to strengthen our existing partnerships with local arts organizations.”
